Most advanced yet acceptable

Most advanced yet acceptable is the design principle that a new thing spreads only as far as it still resembles something people already accept; advancement and acceptability are separate axes.

How it works

A face-worn computer failed as a consumer object because it was advanced and not acceptable. The same technology inside a classic eyewear frame shipped, and it did less: a photo, a recording, some audio. Removing capability is what made the capability adoptable, which is the opposite of how a roadmap is usually argued. The rule describes the reliable path rather than the only one; the talks admit that some things arrive from nowhere and succeed anyway.

What it changes for a personal brand

Put your least conventional idea inside your most conventional format: the plain post, the ordinary email. Novelty in the substance and novelty in the container compete for the same small budget of tolerance, and the container is the half nobody is paying you for.
